The weather, although chilly, has been bright over the weekend so on Saturday we went awandering.
On our normal drive towards Whitby there are a number of turnings signposted to villages we’re unfamiliar with so we decided on a magical mystery tour of these. Once off the main road, for the most part we found ourselves on single track roads, some with grass growing along the centre, some traversing through farmyards, all very scenic. We discovered Middleby, West Barnby and East Barnby, Goldsborough (Fox & Hounds pub noted for a future visit) and Kettleness which was as far as we could go as the road runs out! The Cleveland Way passes through en route from Sandsend to Runswick Bay (a walking route duly noted, again for future reference) and the view was fantastic.
